Standing behind the doors leading into the royal hanger, the Queen of Naboo, surrounded by her loyal handmaidens and advisers, must make a choice. One path will keep the teenage monarch on Naboo, with her people, risking capture and death at the hands of the invading Trade Federation. The alternative path will take her off-world, traveling with the two Jedi escorting her, running the Trade Federation blockade above her world in the hopes of reaching Coruscant, the capital of the Republic, to plead for help directly to the Senate. NATALIE PORTMAN IS COMING BACK!!! JANE FOSTER IS BECOMING THOR IN THE MCU!!!

Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, OH MY GOSH PEOPLE!!!!  I’m never one to get crazy excited about the San Diego Comic Con announcements (or any con for that matter).  I read about ’em, sure.  I get excited about what’s revealed, of course.  But I’m not one to follow everything live on Twitter or YouTube or anything.  I certainly don’t normally write about reveals and things like that.  But Natalie Portman is returning and Jane Foster is becoming The Mighty Thor in Thor: Love and Thunder and this is a real thing that’s really happening.  And I was just too darn excited so I had to write something!  It is time to celebrate good times, c’mon!  WOOO HOOO!!! Thor’s Day Salutes: The Future of Thor in the MCU!

With Avengers: Infinity War approaching, much geeky speculation has centered around who will survive.  Practically, we know contracts are expiring.  Narratively, we know for Thanos to be the monstrous villain he’s been presented as, not everyone can make it out alive.  If this line of logic isn’t enough to assure us some of our beloved Avengers won’t make it, Kevin Feige literally told Joblo’s Eric Walkuski that Avengers: Infinity War will mark the end for some characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.  With that in mind, here’s my AMAZING DREAM (and, if I’m being honest, kick ass perfect idea) that I’ve no reason to believe will come to pass – I would love to see Natalie Portman pick up Mjölnir and have Jane Foster become Thor in the MCU!  Continue reading
