I’ve never done a co-authored piece on my blog before but today is the day!  Given this is my 99th post annnnd I’m honoring a comic book I love (and write about a lot) – Erik Burnham and Dan Schoening’s brilliant Ghostbusters – I wanted to do something extra special.  Kalie and I were having a discussion about ghostbusting the other day and she started analyzing the guys in grey in a light I’d never considered.  So I pitched the team-up idea to her and she happily agreed.  Are you ready to see the Ghostbusters as you’ve never seen them before?  Here we go… Continue reading

Haunting Abroad with Ghostbusters International

Ghostbusters is an iconic film that has given birth to a loving and passionate fandom.  When you love the Ghostbusters, you love the Ghostbusters.  I understand this because I LOVE THE GHOSTBUSTERS.  With that in mind, the idea of an ongoing monthly Ghostbusters comic may seem tricky as you’d be stepping on sacred ground in the attempt to give fans something new.  However, under the stewardship of author Erik Burnham and artist Dan Schoening, IDW has consistently captured lightning in a bottle since Ghostbusters debuted in 2011.  Their most recent run, Ghostbusters International, turns the Ghostbusters loose to address feelings of dread in basements and attics alllllll over the globe. I ALWAYS Know Who I’m Gonna Call!

Do you know what’s happening this week?!?  Ghostbusters is coming back to the big screen (in select cinemas of course).  Since  our local theatre is one of the lucky ones, you can bet I’ll be there – seeing it as many times as possible.  Woo hoo!!!  Given the fact that Ghostbusters is one of the greatest movies of all time and has continued on in an incredibly fun (and faithful) IDW comic series, I figured it was time to talk a little ghosts and ghostbusting.  Call it fate.  Call it luck.  Call it karma…I believe I was destined to write this post.  Continue reading
